Putting a stamp on the truth: Tea Campaign's certification

Putting a stamp on the truth: Tea Campaign's certification

All Tea Campaign's teas are authentic and certified. Organic certifications provide written guarantees to consumers that our teas are sourced from responsible farmers who practised organic farming standards.

What you need to know about our certification and partners

Tea Board India

Tea Board India is the statutory body of the Central Government under the Ministry of Commerce. The Board has the sole control over the growing and exporting of all teas in India, including Darjeeling.

As the ‘champagne of teas’, Darjeeling Tea is a highly desirable product worldwide. This has resulted in some unscrupulous producers selling blends as ‘Darjeeling Tea’. To protect the tea, the Tea Board has developed the Darjeeling name and logo as proof of authenticity.

Euro Leaf

The distinctive green stylised leaf of the European flag indicates that a product is legally organic because it has conformed to strict European standards for organic farming. The standards not only cover production and processing but also control and labelling of organic products.

The use of the logo comes with strict controls including checks at every stage of the organic chain. All stakeholders (farmer, processor, trader, importer or exporter) are checked at least once a year as part of the strict EU standards.

German bio leaf – ‘Bio-Siegel’

The European Union is the world’s largest producer and consumer of organic products and Germany is a key player in the region.

The German ministry of agriculture, nutrition, and consumer protection coordinates and regulates organic standards by issuing a label dubbed as ‘Bio-Siegel’. To qualify, no less than 95% of the product’s ingredients of agricultural origins must originate from organic farms.

Naturland

Naturland Association for Organic Agriculture is a renowned authority that develops and propagates organic agriculture. Naturland is a global leader in organic agriculture having pioneered the conversion to organic agriculture of tea gardens in Sri Lanka and India in the 80s.

IMO

Tea Campaign teas are tested and certified organic by IMO, Switzerland. IMO (Institute for Marketecology), Switzerland is one of the world's most respected bodies for the inspection, certification and quality control of organic, eco-friendly and socially-responsible products.

Control Union International

Control Union International Inspection Services GmbH is an independent IFIA accredited international inspection and certification group with technical competence to pursue quality assurance activities including organic certification.

When you read our labels you will know that we source our teas from Naturland approved tea gardens and certified organic by IMO or Control Union. Additionally, our teas have also undergone stringent testing by Eurofins Sofia for more than 500 chemical residues.

We proudly carry India Tea Board’s Seal of Darjeeling, Germany’s ‘Bio-Siegel’ and the distinctive gold and green Euro-leaf.
