4 Other Ways to use Organic Darjeeling Green Tea (besides drinking it)

4 Other Ways to use Organic Darjeeling Green Tea (besides drinking it)

We already know that Darjeeling Green Tea is a delicious, a powerful drink full of antioxidants and other numerous health benefits. But did you know you could use green tea in other ways besides drinking it? From face masks to relieving odours, Darjeeling Green Tea is a useful and beneficial ingredient to have to hand. Here are four reasons for you to always keep a good stock of green tea handy at home!

1. Relieve puffy eyes

Whether you've got a hangover or you're just not getting enough shut eye, green tea can help soothe and relieve puffy eyes. Make your own teabag and brew a cup of Darjeeling Green Tea, wait for the teabags to cool down a little, and then place them over your eyes (closed, of course). The tannins in Darjeeling green tea help to tighten the skin under your eyes, while caffeine also helps to ease puffiness and swelling. Best of all, you can have a cuppa while you relax and wait for the tea to work its magic.

2. Soothe sunburnt skin

Found yourself sunburnt after a day at the beach and have no Aloe Vera to hand? No worries! Brew yourself a nice cup of Darjeeling Green Tea by making your own teabag, let the teabag cool down, and then place it on the affected area. You'll feel instant relief. Alternatively, you can use a rag to dip into cold green tea, and then rub on to your sunburnt spots. You can also use this remedy for other minor burns or even shaving irritation.

3. Give your fridge a nice smell

Fridge getting a little smelly? To keep your fridges smelling great all the time, just place a handful of green tea leaves in a cheesecloth or other thin cloth and store them in the fridge. The tea leaves will absorb any bad smells, while also giving out their own pleasant scent. You can also use this trick in sock drawers and other small, enclosed, places that are prone to strange odours. It's a win-win!

4. Green tea face mask

Don't splurge on expensive facials, make one at home! Green tea is a powerful anti-inflammatory that can help prevent the formation of wrinkles and fine lines. The antioxidant epigallocatechin also prevents the development of collagen-digesting enzymes, helping your skin look younger for longer. Green tea can also help to tighten the skin, working like a toner. Mix a bit of green tea with some sugar and use it to scrub your face. Combine this with some green teabags on your eyes and you've got the perfect relaxing treatment!
